Throwback Post: iPad, The New Device From Apple
Well Today apple released the iPad a revolutionary touchscreen device. I am most likely going to get one, A because i am a sucker for apple products and B. I need an E Reader. This Deice looks like it is going to be amazing. It Comes with a new iBook app which allows you to download ebook’s to your iPad. It also allows you to change your home screen background (yes!!) which you couldn’t do previously on the iphone or ipod touch. All Regular apps work with the iPad and developers are now working on designing apps that are only for the iPad. Apple has a video posted on their website that goes more in depth about the product. The iPad comes in two versions, a 3g and a non 3g version. The 16gb non 3g version will cost 499 and if you want to add 3g to it it will cost you 19.99 a month for one plan and 29.99 for the unlimited plan. There will be a 16gb model, 32gb model and a 64gb model. By the way the 3g service is with AT&T but it is a pay as you go contract so you can cancel at anytime without being penalized. The wifi only version of the iPad will be available in 60 days and the 3g + Wifi version will be available in 90 days. PS: The iPad will also be allowed to run the iWork applications. This is just a short article on the iPad so expect more.

Mars Edit 3 Review
In the world of blogging on the mac there are very few desktop apps that really integrate well with your blogging platform. Probably the most acclaimed is MarsEdit which is made by RedSweater Software.
Compatibility
MarsEdit works with a plethora of CMS’ for example:
- WordPress
- Tumblr
- MovableType
- Blogger
- ETC…
Getting Started
Mars edit is very easy to set up, when you first start the app you are greeted by a very nice welcome screen which guides you through the process of setting up mars edit and adding your weblog to it so you can begin publishing content immediately. Note: If you are using wordpress you need to enable atom publishing in the settings menu for mars edit to discover your blog.
Publishing Content
Publishing content in MarsEdit is an absolute breeze, All you have to do is click “New Post” on the top toolbar and off you go. To insert an image into your post just drag and drop from a folder on your mac and follow the onscreen instructions. You can also add categories to your posts with in MarsEdit which is very convenient. The UI of MarsEdit is very similar to mail so you will feel right at home while editing. Mars Edit offers the ability to add Technorati Tags, choose pre-defined categories, and ping weblog services let them know that you have updated your content.
The Downfalls
MarsEdit is a very good desktop publisher but it does have it’s shortcomings, for example there is not yet support for linked blog posts which is something I use on my blog constantly. Another is image posting. When you are writing a post for your blog and you Insert an image using media manager in MarsEdit it displays the image very large and even if you make it smaller it may not look right when you are viewing your post on your blog.
Tim Cook Talking about the Apple TV at the D10 Conference Last Night.
A very well written review of the new coda and diet coda apps.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
The Dock. That little area on your iPhone or iPad that contains a handful of apps which are available on every screen. It says something about what you’re about and what you want to achieve.
Nice post. I speak about applying this same idea of sacred spaces even more broadly in my book. Nice to see it echoed in a specific area here.
Buoy Tags is another product I have had a recent chance to sample. They attach to your MagSafe, USB, and/or headphone cords to better identify who they belong to. On a recent episode of the Home Work podcast I had the pleasure of guesting on, Dave Caolo mentioned that a conference trick he used involved marking his such items with a red dot to easily identify which was his. This seems like a bit more elegant and easier to see solution. They have worked out great for my wife and I to tell who’s adapter is whose in the short time I’ve used them. Recommended.
A full pack of three is only $12 bucks.
